Have a Healthy Berry Smoothie full of antioxidants and good fats to start your day, it will fill you up, keep you full and is great after you have done a work out. Prepare the day before and take to work or school, I like to have mine warm on these cold and frosty mornings. Thermomix Instructions included.
It tastes more like a milkshake and the colour is really pretty to. Smoothies are great because:
- They are good for you
- They taste good
- They are easy to make
- They are easily transported
not necessarily in that order. There are so many combinations you can make, you are only limited by your imagination.
I like to keep my combinations simple though and I always add some sort of superfood or supplement, here are some that I use:
- Protien powder (made from pea isolate)
- Maca powder
- Greens powder (vital greens, barley grass)
- Vitamin C
- Hemp seeds
I obviously don’t use all of these at once, you could but there is no need to, I usually use 1 to 2 .
I think less is more when it comes to smoothies and its good to change it up depending on how you are feeling or what you feel you need. Im fortunate that I am in tune with my body and am able to sense what I am lacking or need, its something that’s always come natural to me. Are you in tune with your body?
Berries are packed full of antioxidants, fiber and Vitamin C they are also low in fructose so if you are suffering from candida these are the best fruits to eat until you get it under control. Other fruits can spike your insulin levels and feed candida when eaten in excess, we were never meant to be eating 3 to 4 pieces a day.
Anyway I’m not meant to be sounding preachy but there are some facts for you. Apart from this healthy berry smoothie my next favourite would have to be green smoothies especially with kale, I really like greens. I don’t drink smoothies every morning usually every other morning and they are handy to make and put in a mason jar if you are on the run. I haven’t got into the smoothie bowls which I see everywhere on Instagram (I love Instagram, its my favourite social media) and I’m not sure if I will, think I like it in a glass better.
Thanks for reading let me know of any other unusual combinations you like to have in a smoothie.
