Green Smoothies are the best especially when they are a Kale Green Smoothie. Kale is dense in nutrients and is reallly good for you combined with coconut milk, blueberries and vanilla protien powder (optional) gives it a nice sweetness without the sugar! Thermomix Instructions included.
I dont have smoothies everyday usually a few times a week. I find that if I am going to exercise or do anything physical like collecting fire wood my body doesn’t work on a full stomach, not that smoothies arent filling its just a different type of fullness.
When I worked on a mine site I usually had one every morning because it was easy to make the night before and transport in a mason jar. I always got questioned about what I was drinking, they weren’t really the healthiest lot so it didn’t sound very appealing to them (their loss).
I think keeping smoothies simple is the way to go, I don’t think we were meant to consume multiple ingredients all in one go plus I don’t add much fruit to them either, you see some smoothie recipes and they have loads of fruit in them way too much fructose that will leave you wanting more sweet things.
Did you know that berries contain only a small amount of fructose and contain powerful antioxidants they are classified as a super food.
What I love most in smoothies is Avocado they make them creamy smooth and filling it almost tastes like a thickshake plus the health benefits from them are great. I remember years ago on the news when they tried to tell people that they were fattening, I was only young then and thought it was a load of rubbish I mean how can a fruit or vegetable be bad.
There are multiple combinations you can have for smoothies the list is endless well Im pretty sure there would be an end somewhere but it would be a big list!
