This is my first recipe official post and it is one of my creations. My blog will consist of recipes created by myself, old family favorites adapted to be healthier and recipes that I have been inspired by, which of course will be referenced.
Who doesn’t want chocolate for breakfast?? Nut Free Chocolate Granola will hit the spot.
Yes please, this nut free granola beats any processed cereal and is really good for you, and it has chocolate! If you have an allergy to nuts or you limit the amount of nuts that you eat (like me, that’s a whole other blog post that I will save for another time). The ingredients in this are tummy friendly as well so if you are suffering from Leaky Gut (another post) I think you will like it. Ive never been much of a cereal fan I was more of a toast girl things sure have changed. Don’t get me wrong I love bread especially sour dough with a dob of butter on the crust yummo. I dont eat gluten anymore and yes sour dough still has some even though it has been fermented but is much better that normal bread.
You can adjust how sweet and chocolatey you want this nut free chocolate granola to be and its still sugar free, its crunchy and can be added to milk of choice or plain organic yogurt
Going gluten free has its challenges especially when you are cooking for a family and a family with teenagers that were brought up on a conventional western diet so they like bread sugar and milk and bad stuff. I didn’t let them eat whatever they wanted when they were growing up I have always been health conscious in some ways but a lot more ways now, I did the best I could at the time. Not everything I post on here will be kid or teenage friendly trust me they are the toughest critics, just ask any five year old or hormonal teenager they will give you the truth they don’t hold back. There’s nothing more heart breaking when you pour your heart and soul and time into creating something you think they will like just to be told are we eating that for dinner. 🙁 Sometimes I feel like giving up but no I will prevail! There are no separate meals created for fussy eaters in this house if they don’t like it well that’s their choice, but I do try and make something I know they will like.
Anyway getting back to the nut free granola oops forgot the chocolate, don’t know how I managed that. It also contains some puffed millet a bit like rice bubbles, coconut flakes, coconut oil good fats will keep you feeling fuller longer plus a load of health benefits. Plus raw chocolate which is cacao my favorite and again loaded with nutrients, I use this instead of cocoa.I can not forget chia seeds they are amazing little seeds that you can use in cakes or other creations in place of eggs if you are vegan (vegans would know this already, well I’m pretty sure they would). When they are mixed with water they swell up and form a gel like mixture and are full of fiber. You just need to remember to drink plenty of water otherwise they could have the opposite effect and you wouldn’t want that.
